My typical Facebook friend is male, aged 31, lives in Sydney and is named Ben Khan
Thanks to a brand new feature from Wolfram Alpha (the search specialist that powers a lot of your conversations with Siri), I’ve just pulled a report on my Facebook profile. The report tells me things like the words I most commonly use in my status updates, the average number of people tagged in my photos, and the number of Likes and comments I typically get on my posts. As well as that, it gives me a breakdown of my friends including where they typically live, age distribution, most common religious and political views, and even most common first and surnames.
Is it the kind of information that will cause me to make any drastic changes, online or otherwise? Probably not. But it’s a darned interesting way to kill 10 minutes – after all, everyone loves seeing their life summed up in an infographic, right?
Try it for yourself:
1. Search for “facebook friends” on Wolfram Alpha
2. Allow the app to gain access to your Facebook profile
3. Follow the prompts to complete your Wolfram Alpha account and view your report
