Minority Report ads are here

Startup SoftKinetic and Intel have teamed up to create an interactive digital display unit that can recognise the viewer’s gender and age, serve them a targeted ad, and even let them interact with it by body movements. It launches today, hopefully we’ll see it roll out in a mall near you in the coming months.

Could this concept be in some part replicated for online display media using the viewer’s webcam?
